A BRIEF DISCOURSE ON ENVIRONMENTAL ILLNESS FOR THE TEMPORARILY ABLE-BODIED
by Barbara Ruth

What you do
to your body
makes me ill.

the cigarettes
the pot you smoke
the booze still lingering on your breath

your scented makeup, soap, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner,
hand lotion, mousse, essential oil, after shave, aromatherapy
the detergent, bleach, fabric softener, dryer sheets, incense car air freshener
that you bring in with you.

I don't have the option
of not breathing

and you tell me
I'm infringing on your rights?
